County Economic Development Commission Installs New Slate of Officers

New board member appointed

Hagerstown, Md. (July 17, 2014) – The Washington County Economic Development Commission (EDC), is pleased to announce the installation of executive officers Hugh Breslin, Chair; Paul Crampton, Jr., Vice Chair and Jef Bohn, Secretary for the 2014 - 2015 board term and the appointment of Julie Rohm as EDC board member.

Breslin, a Greater Hagerstown Committee, Inc. representative assumes the role of Chair. Breslin is Vice President/General Manager with WHAG-TV and a member of the Maryland D.C. Delaware Broadcasters Association Board. He also served on the Community Foundation og Washington County. Breslin's Chair term will expire June 30, 2015, and his first commission term expires June 30, 2016. He is eligible for a second, three-year term. 

The Mayor of Funkstown and the newly appointed EDC Vice Chair, Crampton has also served the EDC Board through the Executive, Infrastructure and Site Development and Marketing and Public Relations committees and chaired the Celebration of Business taskforce. President of Paul Crampton Contractors, Inc., Crampton has developed both residentital communities and retail space in Washington County, Md. since 1979. Crampton's term expires June 30, 2016

A CPA, Bohn has been a member of the Smith Elliott Kearns & Company, LLC firm since 1989 in the Accounting Services and Tax Department and will serve as EDC Secretary. He is involved with numerous local boards and serves on the EDC’s Marketing and Public Relations committee, chairs the Small Business Development Committee and holds the office of Secretary on the Executive committee. Bohn’s term expires June 30, 2016.

The Valley Mall’s general manager since 2007, Rohm has previously served the EDC as an ex-officio member and currently chairs the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau board. Rohm volunteers with the United Way of Washington County, MD and other local nonprofits. Rohm’s term expires June 30, 2016.
