Hagerstown, Md. (May 20, 2015) – The Washington County Department of Business Development (DBD) is seeking applicants to join the Washington County Economic Development Commission (EDC).
Applicants with a manufacturing background are needed to fill an unexpired term on the board from the time of appointment until June 30, 2017. Following appointment for the first term, the board member may reapply to serve two, three-year terms.
An advisory board, the EDC provides counsel for the promotion of Washington County as a place of business and acts as a facilitator to improve the business climate in Washington County.
Board members are also responsible for evaluating, recommending, and/or implementing policies affecting the community's abilities to attract, nurture and sustain employment, and to promote economic opportunity for our citizens.
