GREEN HILL FARM TO HOST POULTRY SWAP AND FARMER’S MARKET
Hagerstown, Md. (March 29, 2016) – Join the Washington County Agricultural Business Development Office for the Maryland Poultry Swap and Farmer's Market April 23 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Green Hill Farm at 5329 Mondell Rd. in Sharpsburg.
Growing each year, the poultry swap now includes more than chickens and visitors to the market will enjoy small livestock as well as crafts like handmade baskets, jewelry, tote bags, used and new horse tack, used and new tools, gardening and farming supplies and more. Live music from Copper Canyon Bluegrass, pony rides and concessions will be available. The admission fee for shoppers is $2 per person. Admission for children 12 and under is free.
Maryland Department of Agriculture will be onsite to test poultry, which permits anyone in Maryland to sell poultry at the swap without any prior testing required.
Vendor space can be purchased before 7:30 a.m. at the gate the day of the event for $20 or you can register in advance at ghfarm.org. Vendors are responsible for providing canopies, tables and chairs or other display needs.
