Small food processors will learn basics of food safety requirements and regulations
Hagerstown, Md. (January 13, 2015) – The Washington County Department of Business Development Office of Agricultural Business Development is pleased to invite food handlers to attend a February 20, 2015, workshop on “Understanding Acidified Foods, A Training Program for Small Food Processors” at the Howard County Extension Education Center, 3300 North Ridge Road, Suite 240 in Ellicott City.
Canning salsa, pickles and other acidified foods for sale requires special training. By attending this workshop, class registrants will learn the basics of food safety requirements and regulation in the manufacture of acidified in foods in Maryland. The class will cover topics including:
A fee of $200 per person and advanced registration is required to attend the workshop. Registration closes February 6. Fee includes materials, refreshments and lunch. Checks should be made payable to BioIntelliPro LLC.
