Startup Technology and Professional Services Firm Secures Maryland Minority Business Enterprise and SBA Woman Owned Small Business Certifications

Beacon Grace, a technology and professional services consulting firm, joins 32 other Washington County woman and minority owned designees

Hagerstown, Md. (July 27, 2016) – The Washington County Department of Business Development is pleased to announce Beacon Grace, LLC. will join the ranks as one of 32 Washington County organizations certified as a woman and minority owned small business.

In business since 2015, Beacon Grace, LLC is a niche business providing professional services specializing in supply chain technology and business support consulting.  Beacon Grace takes a synergistic approach to identifying and solving problems through business consulting and technology implementation projects.  Becky Willard, owner of Beacon Grace, brings decades of experience supporting complex supply chain projects and initiatives.

“After an extensive applications process, I am thrilled to be able to extend services to federal, state, and local entities” said Becky Willard, Beacon Grace, LLC.  “This step strategically positions the business for growth opportunities across both commercial and government entities.

The federal procurement designation of WOSB (Woman-owned Small Business), and the Maryland MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) Certification will increase both federal and state procurement and contracting opportunities for Beacon Grace.  To qualify as a woman-owned small business the organization must be 51 percent directly and unconditionally owned and controlled by one or more women. Additionally, to qualify as a certified MBE in Maryland, there is an extensive application, qualification, and approval process which also minimally requires the organization to be 51 percent directly and unconditionally owned and controlled by one or more women or minorities.

The WOSB program is overseen by the Small Business Administration.  And, the Maryland MBE program is overseen by the Maryland Department of Transportation.
