University of Maryland Extension and County Department of Business Development to Host Annie's Project Workshops

Learn farm management practices, plan for your farm’s future, and build your network 

Hagerstown, Md. (January 8, 2014) – The Washington County Department of Business Development, Agricultural Business Development Office and University of Maryland Extension will host Annie’s Project workshops January 22 - March 26, 2014, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Agricultural Education Center, 7303 Sharpsburg Pike in Boonsboro, Md. 

The eight-session course will cover the five areas of Risk Management including:

  • Production
  • Marketing
  • Financial
  • Legal Risk
  • Human Resources

These workshops are open to anyone interested in farm management practices and the course fee of $75 includes all meals and materials. Annie’s Project has been approved for FSA Borrower Training.  For more information, please contact your FSA loan officer.

Annie’s Project is designed to empower women in agriculture to manage information systems used in critical decision-making processes and to build local networks throughout the state. Class attendees include women in agriculture with a passion for business and involvement in the farm operation.
