Hagerstown, MD (January 6, 2012) – The Hagerstown-Washington County Industrial Foundation, Inc. (CHIEF) is seeking proposals from qualified firms with relevant and demonstrable experience for the development of a Strategic Economic Development Plan for Washington County and the City of Hagerstown in Maryland (the Plan).
Firms interested in responding to this RFP should submit a “Letter of Interest” to the project’s CONTACT OFFICER by February 1, 2012 to ensure they are a registered bidder.
CHIEF has designated the following officer as the primary contact for questions and/or clarifications. He is available Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

As the Plan’s lead advocate, the Hagerstown-Washington County Economic Development Commission (EDC) will factor importantly into the overall process. “The EDC is excited about developing a community-wide economic development plan. Input and participation from all of our economic development associates is expected. Due to the size and importance of this effort, we intend to partner with the most qualified and experienced professional consultants to facilitate the development of the plan. The expected outcome of this initiative is to provide specific direction to help increase the tax base, to foster job creation, and to create a higher quality of life for the citizens of Washington County,” said Troxell.
