Two-day conference to focus on ways to produce higher quality livestock, hay pastures and forages
Hagerstown, Md. (January 7, 2016) – The Washington County Department of Business Development, Agricultural Business Development office is pleased to announce the Maryland Cattle Industry Convention & Hay and Pasture Conference will be held at the Hager Hall Convention Center March 4 – 5 in Hagerstown.
This joint conference is designed for all individuals interested in livestock, hay, pastures and forages. Educational workshops will cover practical and current issues to help produce better livestock, hay, pastures and other forages in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible. Whether you have just a few cows or a large herd, are a purebred or commercial producer, are experienced or a novice, you will find value in the activities and interaction offered through this program.
As part of Saturday’s events, the Maryland Cattlemen’s Association is pleased to sponsor the Livestock Skill-A-Thon, now in its 11th year. MCA is committed to helping youth grow their knowledge of the livestock industry as they develop into future leaders. Individuals may compete in one of three divisions: Junior, Intermediate and Senior. A fee of $5 is required for 4H participants and lunch is $10. Deadline to register is February 19.
